Brief Company Profile

Celtic Journeys, LLC, is a privately-owned company providing excellence in travel to Scotland and Ireland. Owner Judy Lowstuter began her career in the travel industry in 1993 as a retail travel agent and an accredited cruise counselor. Real passion for Scotland facilitated the hard work and dedication required for tourist board certification of ScotsMaster in 2003 by VisitScotland, immediately followed by the equivalent certification with TourismIreland. The company opened in April 2004 with a short list of travellers seeking independent vacations to Scotland, and has since grown to include the operation of specialty group tours with unique themes, limited to 16 guests, as well as private affinity groups and independent travel. 2009 saw the completion of my 25th tour of Scotland, having covered all areas of the country, including Shetland and the Outer Hebrides.

Celtic Journeys offers the best in personalized service and high quality travel, as indicated by a strong percentage of repeat guests. In keeping with the integrity expected of a solid company, tours are never cancelled once a deposit has been taken. As part of the firm commitment to our travellers, we believe that good will is more important than profits, and that the true bottom line is the satisfaction and confidence of our guests.

Celtic Journeys is fully licensed and insured and a member of the Better Business Bureau of Metro Washington DC, as well as several professional trade organizations. In 2008 we were privileged to participate in the Scottish Thistle Awards, which were created by VisitScotland in 1991 and showcase business excellence and quality.

Now a nationally-recognized company, Celtic Journeys maintains a strong media presence with advertisements in Scottish Life Magazine, Highlander, Family Tree Magazine, The Scottish Banner, VisitScotland, and TourismIreland, and has been featured in publications in both the U.S. and Scotland, including travel articles in the Tampa Tribune, Scottish Life Magazine, The Glasgow Herald, and Scottish Memories.

Travelers from as far away as Australia, South America, and Alaska have returned to repeat their experience with Celtic Journeys, and I look forward to the opportunity of sharing the very best of Scotland with you too!

Sincerely,
Judy Lowstuter
